SeamCraft Atelier occupies three quiet rooms in Perdana Business Centre: a consultation lounge, a cutting room, and a fitting room with honest mirrors.
How We Began
From one bench to a full workroom
The atelier started with a single cutting bench and a stubborn idea: that people in the Klang Valley deserved tailoring measured on their own bodies, not adjusted from imported standards. The early years were spent almost entirely on alterations — learning, garment by garment, how ready-made clothing fails real shoulders, real waists and real arms.
That education still shapes everything we cut. When you know precisely where factory clothing goes wrong, you know exactly where a bespoke pattern must go right.
What We Hold To
Four working principles
The client is the pattern
Measurements are taken standing, sitting and reaching, because clothes are worn in motion. Your paper pattern records how you actually live in a garment.
Cloth is never rushed
Fabric rests in our workroom before cutting so it settles to local humidity. A jacket that behaves in the shop but warps in a Kuala Lumpur afternoon is a failure.
Fittings are private
One client, one tailor, one closed door. You should be free to say a trouser feels wrong without an audience.
Honesty over upselling
If an alteration will serve you better than a new commission, we will say so. Most of our clients arrived through that sentence.
The Cloth Library
Several hundred bolts, chosen slowly
Our fabric wall holds tropical wools, crisp cottons, airy linens and a small shelf of ceremonial silks and songket-inspired weaves for Malaysian occasions. Nothing arrives on the wall without being handled, stretched and steamed first.
Clients are welcome to spend a full hour at the wall. The right cloth tends to announce itself when you stop hurrying.

The Working Method
From handshake to hanger
Consultation
We talk about where the garment will live: the office, the ceremony, the climate, the suitcase. Cloth and construction follow from those answers.
Measurement & pattern
Around thirty measurements and posture notes become a personal paper pattern, drafted by hand and kept in our archive under your name.
Baste fitting
You try the garment in skeleton form, held together by white basting thread. This is where centimetres are argued over and won.
Finish & delivery
Buttonholes, linings and final pressing are completed by hand. You collect the garment with a final fitting, and the pattern is filed for next time.
